Kidderminster Harriers boss delivers warning despite impressive FA Trophy win
Boss Adam Murray warned his Kidderminster Harriers players “we’ve won nothing yet” after they hit Morecambe for six in the FA Trophy.
Ryley Reynolds and Paul Kalambayi both scored twice as Harriers brushed aside their National League Premier visitors 6-2 at Aggborough, to set up a fifth round date with Halifax.
It capped a perfect day for Murray, who was named National League North manager of the month for December before watching his team win for the eighth straight match in all competitions.
But the boss has urged everyone to keep their feet on the floor.
He said: “I’ve said to the players it’s important we stay humble and grounded.
“We have got the results over the previous games because of our work ethic, mindset and attitude.
“We can’t get away from that. We have done nothing. We have achieved nothing.
“We have got a few good performances and got some wins and that’s it.
“We have all been in the game long enough to know what has gone does not matter.
“It is great to have pats on the back but it can all be taken away from you very quickly if you drop your standards.”
Montel Gibson scored both goals as Hednesford Town advanced into the fourth round of the Birmingham Senior Cup with a 2-1 win over Burton Albion at Keys Park.
Lye Town are also through after an impressive 2-0 win away at Coventry Sphinx.
But Halesowen Town are out after losing 2-1 at Leamington. Trailing 2-0, the Yeltz were given hope by a late Tyrone Barnett strike but could not find a leveller.
There was also misery for Chasetown, who exited the Staffordshire Senior Cup with a 2-1 defeat to Leek after the visitors grabbed a last-minute winner through Adam Porter.
