Birmingham Phoenix sign Lauren Filer for The Hundred

She joins Ellyse Perry and Alice Capsey in an ambitious Phoenix women's squad that is determined to challenge this year after three seasons towards the bottom of the standings.

Filer, 25, has impressed with her performances across domestic and international cricket - including previously in The Hundred with London Spirit, Manchester Originals and Welsh Fire.

“I’m really pleased to be joining Birmingham Phoenix,” she said. “The Hundred is an exciting tournament and I’ve always loved playing at Edgbaston where the atmosphere is incredible.

"I can’t wait to get started with the team, bowl in front of the Phoenix fans, and contribute to what I know will be a strong season.”

Phoenix women’s head coach Ali Maiden added: “Lauren is an exciting young bowler with genuine pace and real competitiveness in her game.

"She brings an aggressive mindset and control that we believe will be crucial in The Hundred.
