The 21-year-old all-rounder will join a women’s team aiming to make big improvements after three straight seasons where they have finished toward the bottom of the standings.

Known for her aggressive batting and effective off-spin bowling, Capsey has made nearly 80 appearances for England since making her international debut in 2022, scoring more than 1,000 runs.

A regular in franchise leagues around the world, she has produced standout performances in the Women’s Premier League and the Women’s Big Bash League.

Capsey has scored nearly 800 runs in previous editions of The Hundred, scoring six half centuries for her former side Oval Invincibles while also taking 22 wickets at an average of just under 19.

She will join a Phoenix women’s team seeking serious improvement having won just five matches over the past three seasons.

“I’m really excited to be joining Birmingham Phoenix,” said Capsey. “The Hundred is such a brilliant competition to play in, and Edgbaston is an incredible venue with amazing supporters.

“Phoenix are building a great group of players and staff, and I’m looking forward to contributing, learning and hopefully helping the team push deep into the tournament.”

Capsey’s signing follows last week’s confirmation Australia star Ellyse Perry will remain captain for the 2026 campaign.

Phoenix performance director, James Thomas, added: “Alice is an outstanding talent and one of the most impactful young players in world cricket. Her ability to influence games at the top of the order, combined with her energy in the field and growing all-round skillset, makes her a fantastic addition to our squad.

“We’re thrilled to welcome her to Birmingham Phoenix and believe she’ll play a key role in our women’s campaign.”
