England youth international Madjo, who turned 17 on Monday, is the club’s second signing of the January window following the arrival of another young star, 19-year-old Brazilian winger Alysson.

The imposing forward, who stands six feet three inches tall, is considered among the brightest prospects in Europe and has agreed a long-term deal at Villa Park.

Madjo, who was born in Enfield, has already made five appearances for Metz in the French First Division.

He is also a full international having made three friendly appearances for Luxembourg last season, before becoming part of the England under-17 set-up.

"I’m really happy to be at this beautiful club,” said Madjo. “It’s a dream for me to play in the Premier League for such a big club.

“My family are very happy too, so I’m really happy to be here.”

He added: “The project was the one for me, the environment is very good for me and the coaching staff will help me to improve.

“This is a great opportunity for me because it’s going to make me grow.”

Villa see recruiting young talent as a key part of their long-term strategy and have already added Alysson in a £10m deal from Gremio.

Boss Unai Emery is also eager to strengthen his first-team options this month, with Villa targeting ambitious deals for both Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher and striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan at Besiktas from Roma.
