The Albion defender, who won promotion to the Premier League with Albion - left the club in the summer following an injury hit final season at the Hawthorns.

Ajayi had played a key role for a number of years but two injuries in the final 12 months of his contract limited his appearances.

He was offered the chance to stay at the club on reduced terms - but decided against it in favour of making a move to Hull City.

He has so far started 12 times for the Tigers - who sit one place outside the play-offs.

And the defender has revealed he decided to leave Albion behind in favour of Hull for a better chance of winning promotion.

Speaking to SportsBoom, he said: "I joined Hull City because I like the project.

"I bought into the idea because we have better chances of winning promotion back to the Premier League and as you see we are doing well and fighting to give ourselves a chance."
