All you need to know about the January transfer window and how long Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall have to do business
The transfer window is now open as clubs look to strengthen to give themselves a chance of survival - or a hope of winning promotion.
For Wolves they are facing a busy window of speculation over their own players - while Rob Edwards hopes to bring players in to help them put up a fight for survival.
In the case of Albion, they're targeting recruits to help pull them up the table - while Walsall are looking to replace loan players and bolster their promotion chances.
And Aston Villa have also been linked with targets as they look to cement themselves as serious Premier League title contenders.
Here is all you need to know about the transfer window and how long clubs have got to do business:
The window opened up as usual on January 1 for the EFL and the Premier League.
Although called traditionally the January transfer window - that name is pretty much defunct now as the window never actually closes in January.
This is the case again this year - with the window closing on February 2 as January 31 actually falls on a weekend.
As was the case in the summer, the timing of the end of the window has now changed from 11pm to 7pm. The switch back in the summer was to bring the transfer window closure closer in line with normal working hours for club staff working on transfer dealings.
As is always the case, clubs can still sign free agents after the deadline - and this year the window is the same for all clubs across Europe meaning no danger of extra activity after the English window closes.
