Why West Brom job is still attractive despite dreadful season - and why it is not all doom and gloom for Albion fans
There has been better times to take over at West Brom that is for sure.
In what is Albion's fifth straight season out of the top flight - there is no doubt this has been there worst.
In all of the other seasons they have been fighting for a play-off spot. In two they fell away weeks before the end of the season, in one they nearly pulled off the impossible and in the other they reached the semi-finals.
But now, sitting in 18th, they are way off the pace, way off where anyone expected them to be.
They are heading into an FA Cup weekend without a manager - although that could change amid talks with Minnesota United's head coach Eric Ramsay.
But regardless of whether Ramsay or anyone else gets the job - it isn't all bad, certainly for an incoming head coach anyway.
