The 25-year-old, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Rochdale in the fifth-tier, leaves Bescot after just 12 months following an agreement between Walsall and Gateshead, which will remain undisclosed.

Amantchi arrived on an undisclosed fee from Bromley and penned an 18-month contract, which included the option of a further year.

In total, he scored four goals in 21 appearances for the Saddlers in all competitions during the second half of last season.

His first goal came in a 3-1 win over Chesterfield in February 2025, before he went on to add to his tally against former club Bromley and Port Vale.

The final goal of his short-lived spell arrived in the League Two play-off semi-final when he sealed a dramatic late 2-1 win over Chesterfield at Bescot in the second leg.

Despite beginning pre-season at WS1, Amantchi completed a six-month loan switch to Rochdale, where he struggled for minutes.

He scored twice in 20 appearances in all competitions for Dale, before his loan expired on January 3.

A club statement read: "The two clubs have reached a suitable agreement, the terms of which will remain undisclosed.

"As the forward embarks on his new challenge on Tyneside, we would like to thank Levi for his efforts, professionalism and contributions during his time at Bescot and wish him well for the future."
