England all-rounder re-signs for Birmingham Phoenix ahead of 2026 Hundred season
Birmingham Phoenix have confirmed that England all-rounder Jacob Bethell has re-signed for them ahead of the 2026 season of The Hundred.
The 22-year-old left-handed better will remain at Edgbaston after a breakout period, which has seen him make significant strides on the international stage and in domestic competitions.
First appearing for the Phoenix in 2023, Bethell has gone on to feature for his country across all three formats, scoring 476 Test runs.
That included a match-winning 40 in last month's fourth Ashes test and his maiden century in the final test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, finishing on 154.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be back with Birmingham Phoenix," Bethell said.
"Phoenix is a special environment, the crowd at Edgbaston is incredible and the team we're building is hugely exciting, as we plot to win the Hundred later this season.
"I can't wait for the challenges ahead and contributing with bat and ball to help land the trophy in August."
He has also contributed valuable innings in limited over formats - including 517 runs at an average of just above 34 in ODIs.
On the T20 stage, Bethell has showcased his attacking instincts with 392 runs at an average of 30.15 and a strike rate of over 150.
"Jacob brings an exciting blend of skill, versatility and competitive edge to the Phoenix," added performance director James Thomas.
"His progression over recent seasons has been significant and he's consistently demonstrating the qualities required to perform under pressure in short-format cricket, when it really matters."
