The 36-year-old, who has been a major hit with the fans since arriving last summer, helped the Saddlers keep three clean sheets across five games in League Two last month.

His performances helped propel Walsall to the League Two summit at Christmas, although they've since slipped to third following back-to-back defeats against Oldham Athletic and Cambridge United respectively.

Flint has played every single minute for Walsall in the league this term and has scored twice in all competitions.

The veteran centre-back has been nominated alongside Hakeeb Adelakun, Idris Odutayo, James Gibbons, Kelly N'Mai and Lee Bonis.

Walsall defender Aden Flint will have a tough task on his hands against Bromley striker Michael Cheek.

Adelakun scored twice in a 3-1 win over Shrewsbury Town on Boxing Day after excelling during his short-term stay at Cheltenham Town, but has since left to re-join Doncaster Rovers.

Full-back Odutayo scored once and set-up two more as league leaders Bromley won each of their five games in December.

Gibbons played a key role during an unbeaten month for Cambridge - registering one goal and two assists, although he was named on the bench against Walsall on New Year's Day.

Dutch wide man Kelly N'Mai weighed in with a goal and an assist apiece for Salford City, who were also unbeaten in December.

And Bonis moved on to double figures for goals in all competitions with four in total last month, including a brace in a 3-1 win over Barnet.
