Perhaps the better, if blunter query would be whether the Baggies will ever pick up another point away from The Hawthorns?

A 1-0 New Year’s Day defeat at Swansea, Albion’s ninth consecutive loss on the road, has piled all the pressure back on to the head coach which had only partially been lifted by Monday’s 2-1 win over QPR.

That victory, you hoped, might be a springboard, just as you hoped the same from the home wins over Swansea and Sheffield United which preceded it.

Instead, the Baggies were quickly back in the mire and Mason under more scrutiny.
