Sunday league round-up: Division One chasers can only draw but big victory for Division Two contenders
Shepwell Wanderers missed the opportunity to make up ground on the leaders in Wolverhampton & District Division One on a reduced weekend.
Third-placed Shepwell trailed leading duo Emerald Athletic and Warstones Wanderers by three points but were only able to collect a point on the road.
They drew 1-1 away to Barnhurst Lane Lions, who are down in seventh.
It lifted Shepwell clear of the chasing pack below but they may rue the chance to put more of a dent in the top two's lead, who both have unblemished records from six league games so far. Barnhurst are clear of the struggling bottom two by a healthy eight points.
The top flight's other clash saw fifth-placed AFC Bradmore win 3-1 at pointless basement boys AFC Willenhall. Alex Trout netted twice for Bradmore, with Connor Stokes also on target.
In Division Two chasers HT FC put pressure on inactive leaders Warstones Sunday with a 5-1 hammering of hosts Tettenhall Athletic.
Cory McKella rattled in hat-trick for HT with Michael Nana and substitute Alfie Auden on target.
Bradmore Social, in fourth, went goal crazy with a 9-2 win at lowly Dudley Rangers United.
Mark Giles, Jack Hague, Max Hague and Harry Slater netted as Tettenhall won 4-0 at Dynamo 50 Stile.
Bradmore United climbed to third in Division Three with a strong 4-1 win at Mental Health All Stars.
Bradmore goals came via Joseph Brooks, Charles Maor, Oliver Mason and Solomon Meleke. United have played more games than their rivals at the summit.
Keegan Stanley and Leighton Rose struck second-half goals in a Black Country Phoenix comeback victory away to Mental Health Sports.
The Tipton-based hosts led through Kian Lampitt but the visitors struck back impressively to sit fourth.
LoneStar Hydrobolt Rangers are fifth after a 1-0 victory over Wolves Pack United.
The result of the weekend saw mid-table Division Four side Warstones Athletic crash 16 past bottom side Blackheath Athletic.
Beckham Brazier fired in six goals and was ably assisted by Connor Garrett, with four, and Shaun Steventon's hat-trick. Josh Cole, Rodney Williams and Ben Morris also netted.
L&L FC beat Viking United 3-2.
APR RBL saw off hosts Mental Health Lions 5-2 to reach the Tom Bird Cup final with Dan Hopson on form with a hat-trick.
Shamar Lewi and Ryan Mathews also netted for L&L in the final-four tie.
The league's action resumes on January 4.
