Rugby round-up: Stourbridge lose ground at the top after Bournville defeat

Lichfield dropped to seventh-place after losing 34-28 at Lutterworth who leapfrogged them in the table. 

Dudley Kingswinford remain second from bottom after slumping to an eighth successive defeat with a 32-12 setback at Banbury.

Harry Edwards and Georgie Jones scored tries for Kingswinford who are already 11 points adrift of safety.

Walsall sit third in the Regional Two Midlands North after romping to a fourth straight win with a 33-12 success over Old Salteians. 

They stormed into a 20-0 lead inside 11 minutes thanks to tries from Dan Carpenter, Dean Ainger and Max Brown before a pair of penalties by Ben Pitt stretched their lead further.

Old Salteians opened the scoring, but Pitt added another penalty and produced a conversion after Rhy Jones' touchdown in the second half. 

Old Halesonians remain rooted to the foot of the Regional Two Midlands West after they were comfortably beaten 48-26 at Stow-on-the-Wold. 

In the Counties One Midlands West (North), Burntwood lost 45-17 at Shrewsbury and Stourbridge II were condemned to a 36-17 defeat by Aston Old Edwardians. 

Second from bottom Kidderminster are left 12 points adrift of safety after losing 40-8 at Manor Park in the Counties One Midlands West (South).

Willenhall boast a four-point lead at the top of the Counties Two Midlands West (West) following a 49-17 victory over Leek II. 

Stafford eased to a 64-19 demolition of Burton II thanks to four from Jack Rain and tries by Alex Rock, Tom Barker, Dan Watts, Marley Thomas, Spencer Latham and Alfie O'Brien.

Oscar Lawson and Ethan Fereday scored tries for Wolverhampton but were unable to prevent them from succumbing to a 14-10 home defeat to Bridgnorth Bulls. 

Lichfield II missed the chance to close the gap on second-place Eccleshall after they were beaten 29-24 at Uttoxeter in the Counties Three Midlands West (North). 

Elsewhere, Rugeley were condemned to a 82-7 drubbing by league leaders Barton-Under-Needwood and Stone prevailed 26-14 at Market Drayton.

Warley edged to a narrow 11-10 triumph over Pershore and Bishops Castle & Onny Valley were awarded an away walkover at Dudley Kingswinford II in the Counties Three Midlands West (South).

In the Counties Three Midlands West (East), second-place Handsworth fell to a 27-5 defeat at Old Whetleyans to leave them six points adrift of top spot.

Second-place Bloxwich were awarded an away walkover at Stoke on Trent II and Wednesbury sit third following a 24-19 win against Aldridge.

Meanwhile, Essington eased to a 22-0 success over Burntwood II while Stafford II lost 40-21 at home to Telford Hornets II.

Old Halesonians were awarded a home walkover against Bromsgrove III in the Counties Four Midlands West (South). That has opened a six-point gap between Old Halesonians in seventh and Bromsgrove III in eighth.

Second from bottom Stourbridge II suffered a 32-28 defeat against Worcester II and Stourport cruised to a 55-14 demolition of rock bottom Redditch.
