Surprise midfield change for West Brom as they hunt back to back wins at Hull City

Ryan Mason heads back to his former club Hull City for the first time - as Albion look to build on their win over Sheffield United.

Albion's trip to Humberside represents a chance for Mason's men to put together back to back wins in the league for the first time since the opening weekend of the season.

And it is also an opportunity to end their awful away record ahead of the Christmas period.

It was a case of whether the injured midfielder Alex Mowatt would be fit to start - or would Mason refuse to risk him ahead of Christmas and instead go with the side that picked up an impressive win home win over Sheffield United last time out.

He chose not to stick with the side that won against Sheffield United - but did make a surprise change in midfield.

Ousmane Diakite kept his place with Mowatt sidelined and not in the squad.

Elsewhere though, Charlie Taylor returned to the starting line-up and Callum Styles was pushed into central midfield against  Diakite, with Jayson Molumby a surprise omission as he dropped to the bench.

Nat Phillips was handed the captain's armband - whole January signing Tammer Bany was back in the squad after illness.
