The head coach was criticised by many in football for leaving Middlesbrough for bottom-placed Wolves and he has since lost his opening three games in charge.

But when asked if the size of the task is bigger than he expected, Edwards was adamant that he was prepared for Wolves' plight and is determined to be successful at the club in the long-term.

"I knew it was going to be really difficult," Edwards said.

"We haven't won since April and I knew it was a huge challenge.

"I'm perversely really enjoying it and I really want this challenge.
