Rugby round-up: Dudley Kingswinford troubles rumble on after latest defeat

Dudley Kingswinford suffered their fifth defeat in a row after they were beaten 41-6 at Newent in the Regional One Midlands.

A pair of Joseph Dunn penalties were all Dudley had to show for on the scorecard, as they remain second from bottom in the table. 

Stourbridge are going strong in fourth spot and cruised to a comprehensive 59-17 triumph over Nuneaton thanks in large part to six tries by Hayden Link.

Lichfield climbed into seventh-place after emerging 27-25 victors in a fiercely contested battle against Bromsgrove. 

Walsall moved into third in the Regional Two Midlands North after easing to a 56-22 victory at Belgrave, which featured a hat-trick from Dean Ainger. 

Rhys Jones also delivered two touchdowns and was joined on the score sheet by George Green and Ben Pitt, as captain Adam Nunney was successful with all eight of his conversions.

Meanwhile, Burntwood prevailed 37-23 over Stourbridge II in the Counties One Midlands West (North), and second from bottom Kidderminster were condemned to a 79-0 drubbing against Worcester in the Counties One Midlands West (South).

Willenhall moved seven points clear at the top of the Counties 2 Midlands West (West) with a 17-11 win at Ashbourne.

Stafford convincingly beat Bridgnorth Bulls 47-21 courtesy of doubles by Joben Corcoran, Kayden Robinson and Jerry Quasenivalu, as well as a solitary try from Jack Raine.

James Duroe scored two tries and was joined on the score sheet by Daniel Hever and Andrew Fereday, but was unable to prevent Wolverhampton from slipping to 37-26 setback at Leek II. 

Eccleshall sit top of the Counties Three Midlands West (North) after roaring to a 74-24 success at Burton III, while Lichfield II won 38-15 against Newport (Salop) III. 

Philip Watson, Lewis Kemp, Glen Joss and Benjamin Underwood scored tries for Stone in their 26-24 home defeat against Rugeley.

Elsewhere, Cannock conquered Market Drayton 33-12 on home soil and St Leonards were thrashed 107-3 at second-place Barton-Under-Needwood.

Handsworth edged to a narrow 32-30 victory over Keresley to occupy to occupy second spot in the Counties Two Midlands West (West).

Daniel Edwards, Daniel Bishop, Benjamin Millington, Colin Morgan and Jonathan Macey were the try scorers for Handsworth. 

Third-place Walsall II emerged 38-15 against Warley in the Counties Three Midlands West (South) and Dudley Kingswinford II won 49-19 against Hereford II. 

In the Counties Four Midlands West (North), Bloxwich moved into second with a 50-15 triumph against Stafford II, while Wednesbury drew 7-7 at Burntwood II. 

Essington's trip to Newcastle (Staffs) II and Aldridge's home clash against league leaders Whitchurch II both fell victims to the weather.

Kings Norton were awarded an away walkover against Stourbridge III in the Counties Four Midlands West (South), as Old Halesonians II beat Stourport 6-3.
