Step 5/6 round-up: AFC Wolverhampton denied fifth successive win in Midland Premier

AFC Wolverhampton City were denied a fifth successive win, after Stourport Swifts snatched a point with a 96th-minute equaliser in their 2-2 draw in the Midland Premier Division.

Goals from Luqman Wirba and Timothy Oyanda propelled AFC Wolverhampton into a 2-0 lead inside 33 minutes, before Archie Thurston halved the deficit six minutes later. 

Scott Hammond salvaged a point with an equaliser deep into stoppage time to send the Swifts two points clear of the drop zone.

Dudley Town also picked up a 2-2 draw against 1874 Northwich to sit just two points adrift of the play-off places. 

Tom Owen's 10th-minute opener for Dudley was cancelled out by Robert Hopley's leveller two minutes into the second half. 

Mark Jones completed the turnaround to give Northwich the lead before Kyle Moseley equalised for Dudley 13 minutes from time. 

Lye Town climbed into seventh with a 3-1 win over Studley courtesy of goals from Leonardo Gouveia, Alfie Steward and Alfie Didlock. 

Tividale settled for a share of the spoils in their 2-2 draw against Romulus at Packwood Road which left them in 12th-place. 

Brad Maslen-Jones broke the deadlock from the spot after 13 minutes, but Charlie Gardner equalised for Romulus eight minutes before the break. 

Ryan Nesbitt fired Romulus into the lead eight minutes into the second half but Maslen-Jones bagged his brace with an excellent free-kick to restore parity for Tividale. 

Elsewhere, Brocton's trip to Winsford United and Stone Old Alleynians' home clash against Whitchurch Alport both fell victim to the weather.

In Division One, Birmingham OJM condemned Cradley Town to a humiliating 8-1 home defeat thanks to goals from Casey Collins, Michael Nelson, Leslie Omorodion, Sebastian Pearsall, Jordon Sangha, Raheem Akhtar, Reece Morris and Daniel O'Sullivan. 

Fourth-place Bilston Town missed the chance to close the gap on the top after falling to a 2-1 defeat at Smethwick Rangers. 

Lucas Edwards' double helped Smethwick put an end to Bilston's six-match winning streak, as they climbed into 12th with back-to-back wins. 

Gornal Athletic's home clash against Leicester St Andres and Wednesfield's meeting with Birstall United were both postponed due to the weather.

Eccleshall roared to a resounding 6-2 demolition of Haughmond to sit three points adrift of the league summit in the North West Counties Division One South. 

Jacob Vernon and Daniel Glover bagged braces, as solitary strikes from Jack Warren and Francis Church completed the rout to leave Eccleshall in second spot.

Stafford Town moved into fourth after beating Alsager Town courtesy of goals from Taylor Draper, James May and Matthew Hearsey. 

Rock bottom Wolverhampton Sporting Community were denied a rare point after Cammell Laird struck deep into stoppage time to consign them to another defeat. 

Shaquille McDonald fired Sporting into a ninth-minute lead, but Adam Smith equalised midway into the second half, before Harrison Denton clinched maximum points for Cammell with a 94th-minute decider. 

Wolverhampton Casuals' home contest against Runcorn Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Bewdley Town missed the chance to go top of the Hellenic Division One after losing 2-1 at Malmesbury Victoria.
