Hotshots whitewashed rock-bottom Stafford Institute B to go a point clear at the top of the Staffs & West Midlands Snooker League.
Breaks of 53 from Paul Deaville and 46 from Luke Higginbotham were the highlights in their 5-0 triumph over Stafford that puts them back in charge of the Division One title race.
Meanwhile, Charlemont Bowling Club have moved out of the relegation zone, despite falling to defeat at home to Shifnal War Memorial B.
Daniel Ward knocked in Division One's highest break this week as his effort of 84 put Charlemont 1-0 up. Steve Powell and Paul Harper put Shifnal 2-1 ahead before Milan Krstanovic levelled the match for Charlemont. Aaron Sparkes won the decider as Shifnal won the match 3-2.
Pennfields dropped into the bottom three after a 4-1 defeat at Landywood. Jack Harris took the opener after making a 52 break, and Robbie James won the next to move level at the top of the most wins table. Further wins for Bill Stanton and Dave Turner made it 4-0, but Jim Woodhouse won the final frame to avert the whitewash.
It was fourth v fifth as Baggeridge Social Club played Landywood B, and the first frame turned out to be a high quality encounter as Ash Sidaway made a 40 break, but Riley Parsons replied with a run of 49 as Landywood B went 1-0 up. However, Baggeridge won the match 4-1 thanks to David Hall, Dan Petch, Jamie Spence and James Hill, with Petch also making a 40 break.
The Sedgley derby took place this week as Sedgley WMC faced Sedgley Ex Service. Shaun Edwards put WMC 1-0 up and it looked like 2-0 as Rhys Lampitt made a 34 break in the next frame, but Simon Hickman proved too strong to level the match. Andy Cambridge made it 2-1 to WMC and Richard Davies won the next frame and the match to move joint top in the most wins race. Andrew Highfield won the final frame on the black to reduce the deficit as Sedgley WMC won 3-2.
Division Two was the place to be this week as seven matches included breaks of 30 and above, including the highest break in league matches this week - Sam Thompson posting 89 in Townsend Social Club's 4-1 victory over Essington WMC.
The match of the week in Division Two, though, came as second-placed Landywood D hosted league leaders Bilston Sports & Social. Alan Hathaway made a 32 break in the opening frame but it was not enough as Graham Cole fought back to take the opening frame for Bilston on the black. Further wins for Karl Taylor and Michael Smith secured the match for Bilston before Neil Gould pulled one back for Landywood. Stewart Humphries won the final frame as Bilston increased their lead at the top to eight points.
