The Yeltz scored three times after the 87th minute to roar back from 4-1 down to snatch a point on an emotional day at the Grove.

Brookes, who died last Tuesday aged 83, was remembered during a pre-match ceremony before a thrilling match.

The home match looked destined for defeat when they were 3-0 and then 4-1 down after losing Rob Evans early to a red card.

But Jason Cowley sparked an incredible comeback when he poked home in the 88th minute.

Charlie Wragg then scored as the match entered stoppage time, before Cowley kept his nerve to net his 20th goal of the season from the penalty spot in the 96th minute.

“It was an unbelievable comeback. We believed in it all game,” he said.

“Jason knows where to be. The first one was a poacher’s goal, the second a superb finish under big pressure.”

Stourbridge’s tough season continued as they were thrashed 5-0 at Kettering Town.

Kidderminster Harriers boss Adam Murray joked he wasn’t expecting any credit after goals from substitutes earned Saturday’s win over Chorley.

Kurt Willoughby and Luke Spokes were both brought off the bench and scored in the final 12 minutes as the Harriers climbed to fifth in National League North.

“I am not expecting any plaudits,” he smiled. “This is the job, this is what we get paid for.

“Believe it or not, we have gameplans. I believe in what we do. I think the proof is in the pudding. We are fifth in the league, so I don’t think I need to say anymore. I am proud of the lads today.”

Ahkeem Rose scored the only goal to give Northern Premier League leaders Hednesford Town a 1-0 win at Ashton United.

Rushall Olympic were beaten by the same scoreline at home to Hebburn Town, while there was late drama in the West Division at Chasetown as the hosts snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Trailing 1-0 to Stalybridge Celtic, George Cater levelled for the Scholars in the 88th minute before Jack Langston bagged the winner in the 92nd.

Sporting Khalsa drew 2-2 with Witton Albion, while in the Midlands Division Lichfield City drew 1-1 with Shepshed Dynamo.
