'Be ready' - Mat Sadler issues message to out-of-favour Walsall loan duo
Mat Sadler admits it has taken Rico Richards time to adapt to his system, but feels the Walsall loanee is giving himself a "chance" of playing more minutes.
Richards has made only seven appearances since temporarily joining from rivals Port Vale on transfer deadline day - including just 37 minutes across his three cameos from the bench in League Two.
The 22-year-old has not featured in the league since the Saddlers' 1-1 draw at Crawley Town on October 11, but Sadler insists that the midfielder is knocking at the first team door.
"Rico is someone who is desperate to play. It's probably taken a little bit of time to adapt to our shape and exactly how we want to play," boss Sadler said.
"But he is somebody who I've seen rattling around in training and certainly giving himself a chance of playing more minutes."
