Key man urges Aston Villa to keep focus as they target 'great things' this season
Donyell Malen has promised Villa won’t be getting ahead of themselves despite expressing confidence they can achieve “great things” this season.
Unai Emery’s team have won six out of seven matches to climb from the Premier League’s bottom three to the top four and are the division’s most in-form team behind leaders Arsenal.
Malen chuckled when asked whether Villa could be surprise challengers to the Gunners, who they face twice in the space of just a few weeks next month.
For now, the Netherlands international insists the only focus is on the next match, with Emery’s men hosting Young Boys in the Europa League on Thursday.
“I don’t know how many points they (Arsenal) have, to be honest,” he said. “We have to keep going, game by game, to keep this streak going. From there, we will see.
