Kidderminster Harriers target reinforcements after big forward blow
Kidderminster Harriers are on the hunt for new signings after forward Dan Mooney was ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
Mooney will undergo surgery after suffering damage to his cruciate ligament during the defeat to Darlington earlier this month.
Boss Adam Murray also has concerns over Jack Clarke after he sustained an ankle injury in last weekend’s win at Corby and with David Davis and Reece Hall already sidelined, the hunt for reinforcements is on.
“We’ve had talks with a couple (of players),” said Murray. “It’s just making sure we get the right one. I think the mode the boys are in, we’re not just going to take a number for the sake of taking a number.
“But we want to be competitive. To be competitive, you’ve got to have the squad. You’ve got to have good players. Everybody’s pushing each other and we’ve got competition for shirts, so we are looking.
“We are making sure (our) conversations are staying live and hopefully something will happen.”
Mooney is due for surgery early next month and Murray said: “I’ve said to Dan that the bigger picture is positive, he’ll come back better for it.
“We’ll make sure as a football club we pull him through that.”
