AFC Wolverhampton City cruised to a 4-0 demolition of Dudley Town

Carlo Franco rose highest at the far post to head the visitors into the lead, before Studley equalised just before the hour mark.

With 20 minutes left to play, Franco was brought down in the box and Timmy Oyanda stepped up to dispatch the spot kick into the bottom corner and move City into the fifth.

They overtook Dudley Town, who dropped out of the play-off positions with a 3-0 defeat at Abbey Hulton United.

The league leaders made short work of Dudley with a convincing win that saw the visitors drop to sixth in the league.

Tividale also tasted defeat, losing 2-1 at 1874 Northwich.

The black country club found themselves 1-0 down at half-time and down to 10 men after Tom Rann picked up his second yellow card, but Wayne Mubayi's equaliser gave them hope of rescuing a result.

That was until Northwich grabbed an 82nd minute winner to break Tividale hearts.

Elsewhere in the league, Brocton's clash with Lye Town was postponed due to adverse weather conditions, while the wet conditions also saw matches for Stone Old Alleyians and Stourport Swifts both called off.

The weather also impacted matches in the Midland League Division One, with Birmingham OJM, Gornal Athletic, Cradley Town, Smethwick Rangers and Wednesfield all having their games postponed.

Bilston Town's home clash with Chelmsley Town was one of just two fixtures that took place in the league over the weekend and they earned themselves a 2-0 win.

Chad Carter and Harry Dixon grabbed the goals as Bilston moved up to fourth in the table.

In the North West Counties League Division One South, Eccleshall, Wolverhampton Casuals and Wolverhampton Sporting did not play.

But Stafford Town were in action as they took on Runcorn Town in the second round of the Edward Case Cup.

An end-to-end match saw both sides create chances and it was Runcorn that took the lead in the 37th minute.

They doubled that lead just before half-time after some poor Stafford defending.

Harry Hatton spent 10 minutes in the sin bin halfway through the second half but just two minutes later 10-man Stafford grabbed a goal back through Matt Hearsey.

The Runcorn goalkeeper misjudged the flight of the ball and Hearsey went through on goal. Despite slipping, he got up off the turf in time to knock the ball into the back of the net.

Runcorn also had a player sent to the sin bin late on but they held on to beat Stafford and progress in the cup.

Bewdley Town's trip to Redditch Borough was also postponed and only two matches took place in the Hellenic League Division One, as Bewdley remain top of the table.
