Both of Stafford's mixed ability sides will take to the field during the afternoon, before the main event of the day sees the England deaf women's team face Silhillians Sirens at 2pm.

Stafford chief executive Martin Lennon said: “We are so proud to welcome the England deaf women’s team to our club and are looking forward to what we are sure will be an enthralling game of rugby.

"Being able to put on such a day of rugby shows that rugby really is for all, and through our mixed ability teams and partnerships with others, such as England deaf rugby, is a value that we continue to live and breathe at the club."

The day will start with the inaugural game of the season for the women’s mixed ability side, the ‘Marbelles’, who will be facing near neighbours Uttoxeter Vixens.

The ‘Marbelles’ were founded less than a year ago, but are rapidly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Stafford men's mixed ability team the ‘Marvels’ will also be running out against the Bolton Buccaneers.

The Marvels finished the 2024/25 season in a commendable sixth place in the Ability Rugby International worldwide league.

Their last match saw them narrowly falling short to current world champions Longlevens Griffins, but still managing to score three tries against one of the best.

Mixed ability rugby allows players of all ages, skills and abilities to play the full game of rugby with minor adjustments to enable participation.

It is a full contact version of the game aside from players who are unable to take a full tackle, where a ‘grab’ tackle is used.

Supporters are invited to go along to the club from 1.30pm to enjoy the showcase.
