Women's football round-up: Wolves beat Rugby Borough to set-up Stoke City FA Cup tie

Wolves will host Stoke City in the Women's FA Cup second round after beating Rugby Borough 2-1 at the SEAH Stadium.

Amy Sims kept her composure from close-range to break the deadlock five minutes prior to the interval, before Georgia Marshall bundled home Beth Merrick's corner eight minutes after the restart. 

Jess Camwell halved the deficit for Rugby in the final minute, and rattled the crossbar in stoppage time, but Wolves held out to put their name in the hat. 

West Brom eased to a 3-0 win at Solihull Moors to set-up a home tie against Cambridge United in the next round. 

Marli Rhodes provided the breakthrough three minutes into the second half after catching the goalkeeper of her line with an excellent lob from distance.

Simran Jhamat doubled the Baggies' lead in the 54th-minute and Lavarna Johnson preserved their two-goal cushion with a penalty save just before the hour-mark. 

Zoe Creaney scored her first Albion goal to put the seal on the win after heading home an inviting delivery from Liv Rabjohn. 

Skye Owen equalised for Sporting Khalsa before they set-up a local derby against Hednesford Town in the FA Cup second round by beating Loughborough 5-2 on penalties. 

Hednesford secured progression with a 2-1 home victory over SJR Worksop courtesy of a quickfire brace from Dami Onafowokan, as Millee Clarke scored a late consolation for the visitors.

Kidderminster Harriers will travel to AFC Fylde in the next round after Liv Woolston scored the only goal in a 1-0 win against Redditch Borough. 

Woolston opened the scoring seven minutes before half-time, before Redditch were reduced to 10 players in the second half. 

Stourbridge confirmed progression with a 3-1 victory at Lincoln United and will host Hull City in the second round. 

Bella Martin cancelled out Lincoln's 52nd-minute opener midway into the second half, before a late double from Caitlyn Deeley put the seal on the win for Stourbridge.

Lye Town suffered elimination after losing 3-0 at Wroxham courtesy of a brace from Hannah Waters and a solitary strike from Maddie Green. 

In the West Midlands Division One North, Walsall climbed to the league summit after maintaining their 100 per cent start with a 10-0 demolition of Leek Town. 

Goals from Chloe Astell, Charlotte Turner and Amy Rollaston provided Walsall with a three-goal cushion, before Saanya Najib bagged a brace after the break. 

Sophie Rowlands, Ruby Mayo and Phoebe Smith got their names on the score sheet, and Leila Burford's late double completed the rout.

Lichfield City romped to a 7-0 victory at Whitchurch Alport, as Courtney Dilger's brace and Lily Taylor-Maxwell, Samantha White, Grace Field and Loren Cooper were among the scorers.

In Division One South, Jodie Pitt scored for Halesowen, but was unable to prevent them falling to a 3-1 home defeat against Bromsgrove Sporting courtesy of Elloise Russell's hat-trick.
