Darts round-up: Junction B suffer shock defeat in Tettenhall title race

Junction B passed up a golden chance to seal back-to-back Tettenhall Wednesday League titles after falling to a shock 4-3 defeat against Swan Compton.

With Junction B needing just one victory to secure the league championship, sixth-place Swan Compton put the champagne with a major upset courtesy of wins for Nige Southwick, Mick Scott, Dodge Booth and Dave Booth. 

Junction A also moved to within four points of the summit to keep up the pressure with a 5-2 triumph over Moreton Arms thanks to Jack Duck, Dan Fellows, Mikey Harris, Simon New and Gav Whyman. 

Dog & Partridge B also kept their faint title hopes alive with a resounding 7-0 demolition of The Goose, with Dave Lucas, Pete Pearce, Jaydee Matthews, James Frumenzi, Connor Lucas, Craig Locker and Mike Matthews doing the damage.

In the Coseley and District Friday League, Gornal Legion A eased to a 5-1 success over Hurst Hill courtesy of Paul Watton, Mike Hartshorn, Neil Cooper, Nathan Johns and Matt Price. 

Darlaston Cons raced into a 3-0 lead against high-fliers Hotshots B through Matt Price, Jason Walker and Luke Wildman, before Luke Messer, Ant Whitehouse and Shane Gill salvaged a draw for Hotshots.

Wednesfield Cons B conquered Gate B 4-2 thanks to wins from Phil Mayo, Jaydee Matthews, Richard Newey and Connor Lucas. 

West Midlands Super League leaders Staffs Knott blew a 2-0 lead to fall to a 3-2 defeat against Dudley Ex, with Ian Jones, Mark Craddock and Mick Baker prevailing for the victors. 

Lee Sherwood, John Simms, Connor Dabbs, Ant Whitehouse and Leslie Dabbs helped Cottage Spring crush Junction B in a comprehensive 5-0 victory. 

Junction A beat Landywood 4-1 through wins by Ian Stanton, Callum Parkes, Paul Price and Ryan Bourne. 

Allens A moved back to the top of the Black Country Super League after coming from two down to beat High Acres 3-2 thanks to Harry Williams, Jamie Rollinson and Tom Bissell. 

Elsewhere, Shaun Hercules, Craig Lowin and Jake Shipley led Soccer Zone B to a 3-2 success over Whiteheath Tavern.
