Chasetown confirm appointment of new first team coach after Mark Swann departure
Chasetown have confirmed the appointment of Jamie Hawkins as their new first team manager following the departure of Mark Swann.
Swann stepped down with immediate effect due to "personal reasons" last week, after five-and-a-half years at the helm.
That spell saw the Scholars reach the play-offs twice, including last season, but coming up short on each occasion.
Hawkins worked as assistant manager under Swann and has been elected to make the step-up at Chasetown, who sit ninth in the Northern Premier League Division One West.
"Jamie brings a wealth of experience and dedication to the role, having been an integral part of Chasetown FC for over five years," a club statement read.
"A hugely experienced individual, Jamie has shown exceptional commitment to the club and a strong understanding of its culture, values, and ambitions.
"The board are confident that he is the right person to take Chasetown FC forward and to build on the strong foundations already in place.
"The club would like to thank its supporters for their continued loyalty and looks forward to an exciting new era under Jamie’s leadership."
Hawkins will kick-off his reign when Chasetown welcome Bootle to the Scholars Ground on Saturday.
