AFC Wolverhampton City cruised to a 4-0 demolition of Dudley Town

A competitive and high-quality fixture saw both sides create chances in the first half but neither were able to convert as they entered the break at 0-0.

But Dudley eventually took the lead in the 55th minute when a recycled free-kick was set up for Harry Crook to drive past Jack Sandel.

Brocton pushed for a way back into the game and they came close when Jude King set up Connor Haddaway, but he fired over the bar.

But their pressure paid off shortly after when Ben Haddaway headed a corner back across the box for Jake Thomas to nod home and bring the visitors level.

Brocton looked more likely of the two sides to get a winner as they controlled the game and pushed Dudley to defend deep, but the hosts were also dangerous from counter-attacks and offered the visitors some warning signs and Sandel had to save from Matt Funge who was through on goal and looked set to score the winner.

As the visitors pressed for a goal of their own, Dudley eventually took advantage of the relaxed defending when Kyle Moseley made a deep run and he made no mistake when he slotted home in the 85th minute.

Dudley could have added to their tally in the final minutes of the game and they held onto their slim lead to take all three points.

Meanwhile, AFC Wolverhampton City, Lye Town, Tividale, Stone Old Alleyians and Stourport Swifts were all not in action at the weekend.
