West Brom Great Escape hero looking for next coaching move after spell with non-league club
Former West Brom defender Paul Robinson is on the lookout for a new coaching role - following a successful stint in non-league.
Ex-left back Paul Robinson, who was part of a promotion winning side and the team that performed the 2005 Great Escape - moved into coaching following the conclusion of his playing days.
Having been coaching in the academy with Birmingham City, he joined Gary Rowett at Millwall as first team coach - before the pair again linked up with Rowett took interim charge of the Blues in 2024.
In October last year, he then joined former club Watford as assistant head coach while also working in opposition analysis, before departing the club back in the summer.
The defender, who prior to going back to Birmingham played local football alongside his son, previously told the Express & Star of his desire to move into management.
And while he was waiting for his next opportunity, Robinson joined the coaching staff at Southern League Premier Central side Stratford Town earlier this season.
He arrived with the club struggling - and after a number of months at the club he has now departed, as he looks for his next coaching move.
He said: "When the club asked me to come in and help bring stability, structure and a winning mentality, I knew it was the kind of challenge I enjoy.
"At that point, Stratford had zero points on the board, were low on confidence and needed a bit of guidance.
"I'm pleased to leave them in a much better place, with 18 points and sitting midtable.
"Now it is time to look forward to a new challenge in the game. Good luck - up the Bards."
