The sides were the three from the region to progress from the weekend's ties in the national knockout competition, as others fell by the wayside at the third hurdle.

Midland Division One outfit Gornal have been rewarded with a home tie against Atherstone Town following Monday afternoon's draw, while Dudley Town will visit Sherwood Colliery in the second round on the weekend of November 8.

Bilston will play in round two for the first time since 1993/94 having been pitted away to Winslow United.

Matty Lovatt's Midland Premier outfit Dudley kicked off the weekend in style on Friday night with a 1-0 home victory over Belper United to seal progression.

A delightful chip from Matty Funge just after the hour mark was the difference for the hosts at their Sporting Khalsa base in front of more than 200 fans. It secured a third win for the Robins in the competition they started in August. Dudley have never been beyond round two.

High-flying Gornal, of the division below, have won through two rounds after a bye at the first hurdle and upset the odds with a 3-0 win over Coton Green, who are fourth in the division above.

Gornal, second in their division with a game in hand, enjoyed a lightning start as Traevey Wright and Mitch Botfield headers had them two ahead by the 21st minute.

Wright bagged a neat second in the final 20 minutes to seal the upset and continue an impressive season for Stuart How's Peacocks. The run matches Gornal's best in the competition since 2013.

Bilston, seventh in Division One, twice led in the first half at FC Stratford Town through Nathan Guest and Luke Carter but required penalties to progress and won through 5-4 from the spot.

It was last-gasp agony for North West Counties side Stafford Town at home to fancied Nuneaton. A boosted gate of 315 saw Stafford star Matthew Hearsey bag a hat-trick as the hosts led and then came from behind to lead 3-2 at Evans Park - only for Nuneaton to strike a 93rd-minute leveller and prevail 4-2 on penalties.

Brocton's competition ended with a 2-1 home defeat to Aylestone Park. Ben Haddaway opened the scoring for the hosts but Aylestone struck back twice in the first half for their 2-1 victory.

Lye Town also bowed out away to 2022 champions Newport Pagnell as the hosts netted a 92nd-minute free-kick winner from Corvell Pickering after Lye's Tyler Smith saw red.

Stone Old Alleynians were beaten 2-1 at Nottingham side Sandiacre despite Morgan Russell opening the scoring for Stone. The hosts prevailed with a second-half penalty.

There was a reduced league programme but Tividale picked up a useful 2-0 win at Studley to climb above their hosts into 13th in Midland Premier. Shakeel Brown and Bradley Maslen-Jones netted second half goals.

In Midland One mid-table Smethwick Rangers lost 2-1 at AFC Bridgnorth and second-bottom Cradley Town were hammered 6-1 at home by high-flying Knowle.

Birmingham OJM are up to sixth after dispatching AFC North Kilworth 4-0.

Nicky Parker and Ben Marshall netted as Eccleshall climbed to fourth in the North West Counties First Division South with a 2-1 win at Cheadle Heath Nomads.

Basement boys Wolves Sporting remain bottom after a 3-2 defeat at dropzone rivals Haughmond. Marlon Taylor scored in the first minute for Wolves but the Shropshire hosts hit back.
