Sporting Khalsa's Bury statement as Halesowen and Rushall win and Kidderminster show recovery signs - round-up
Sporting Khalsa delivered a statement 2-0 victory to inflict just a second league defeat on Northern Premier West big-boys Bury.
Almost 800 packed into the Guardian Warehousing Stadium as Ian Rowe's hosts overturned the form book against the visitors who arrived at Noose Lane top of the pile.
For Khalsa, goals from Zach Kourouiyanni in the first half and a last-gasp second from Andre Landell were the difference on a day to remember as the hosts climbed two places to 16th.
Centre-back Kourouiyanni bundled in a scrappy set-piece after 25 minutes and the Khalsa goal led a charmed life as a run of fine saves from Ravan Constable kept Bury at bay, as well as the woodwork and a clearance of the line.
Landell made the points safe in a dramatic breakaway deep into stoppage time. Four-unbeaten Khalsa, who go to 18th-placed Runcorn Linnets on Tuesday, poked fun at the Shakers at full-time with a "Maybe they should have feared us" full-time social media post.
Elsewhere in Northern West there were frustrating home goalless draws for eighth-placed Chasetown and Stafford Rangers, in 10th, against lower-ranked Mossley and Newcastle Town respectively.
Second-bottom Darlaston Town are three points adrift of safety after a 3-1 home defeat to Clitheroe. Darlo had Alex Foreshaw dismissed.
Kidderminster Harriers showed signs of a response in National League North with a 1-1 draw at Chester.
Scrutiny had been on boss Adam Murray after defeats Peterborough Sports and Radcliffe, the latter a 5-1 trouncing, and early FA Cup exit.
But eighth-placed Harriers led for large parts through Ryley Reynolds in Chester, only for Dylan Mottley Henry to strike 18 minutes from time. Harriers head to south Wales and Merythr Town on Tuesday.
Halesowen Town clambered to seventh in the Southern Premier Central as a three-goal first-half blitz proved too much for lowly hosts Banbury.

Russ Penn's men ran amok in the opening 45 minutes in Oxfordshire for a first away league win of the season as Alex Gudger and Finn Holmes scored their first Yeltz goals either side of prolific marksman Jason Cowley's 12th goal of the season.
The first period proved enough and Penn said: "I thought we were excellent from start to finish - that's how you start games away from home. We put them on the back foot and I'm delighted. Everyone came to the party today."
It was the opposite and more misery for Stourbridge, who slipped into the division's bottom four with three first-half goals conceded in a 3-0 defeat at Needham Market.
Darryl Knights' side have just two wins from 11 this term.
Halesowen go to Quorn on Tuesday and the Glassboys visit Real Bedford.
Rushall Olympic chalked up a first Northern Premier victory since August 19 with a 2-1 Dales Lane success over Cleethorpes.
Liam McAlinden and Jack Burgess struck after the break for Ian Long's Pics, who are 13th. Rushall head to high-flying FC United of Manchester on Tuesday.
Hednesford Town are fourth after a goalless draw at leaders Lancaster City in front of a crowd of just over 1,000.
Lichfield City's impressive start to life in Northern Premier Midlands continued as they climbed to third with a 1-0 win at St Neots thanks to Jack Edwards' 15th-minute winner.
Ivor Green's City showed an impressive response with a four-point week to the previous weekend's 6-1 home humbling at the hands of Loughborough. Lichfield go to Corby on Wednesday.
