Mikey Johnston and Isaac Price grabbed the headlines in Albion's narrow win over Preston.

It was their goals that helped Albion to a 2-1 victory - which sees them leapfrog the visitors and climb up to fourth.

Here a few things you may have missed from Albion's home win since the opening day.

Big goals but a bit lucky?

The opening exchanges of the game were quite even, Albion had a bit of the ball, and then Preston did.

But Albion were really, really fortunate not to concede what I would call one of the most blantant penalty shouts you will see this season.

On around the 20 minute mark, Toby Collyer, enjoying his second start got it all wrong and Albion got away with one.

A ball deflected out to the edge of the Albion box, and Collyer stuck out a leg not realising a Preston player was coming on to meet the ball.

He caught him, and everyone expected a penalty to be given but it was waved away by the referee.

He was on top of it, maybe he saw something we didn't. The replay showed otherwise, it was a penalty all day.

They had gotten away with one. Decisions like that have gone against Albion in recent years though, so swings and roundabouts and all that.

It was a big moment and luckily it went Albion's way.

Massive Griffiths moments

It seems like an age since Josh Griffiths put in that insanely good performance against Norwich that basically won Albion the game.

Josh Maja's goal was the difference, with Albion having to ride a storm of pressure from the hosts.

Norwich should have got a point, or even all three - but Griffiths made save after save.

And he has shown his value again in this one.

In the first period a slack pass to Callum Styles saw Preston nip in and go one on one with Griffiths - but he stood tall and kept it out.

It was a save akin to what we saw time and time again from Alex Palmer during his time at Albion. In the second half he again pulled off a key late save when Preston were really putting them under pressure.

Any lingering doubts on Griffiths have now well and truly gone.

The big man is back

It was a day where the victory and the stunning goals grabbed the headlines.

But a huge positive was seeing Daryl Dike back on the team sheet - and warming up in the second half.

Dike is into the final few months of his contract now - which runs out next summer and his latest lay off has been a real set back for the striker.

He spoke about how much it had impacted him in a social media post earlier this season - to see him out there was massive.

He didn't get on and he may not do so for a few weeks - but having him as an option is massive.

The hope now is that he stays fit. If he does, he could really be a key weapon for Mason and Albion this season.
