B teams step up for the West Midlands - darts round-up

West Midlands made it consecutive wins in UKDA Championship defeating Hampshire 20-16 after a massive performance from their B teams.

The women's B side started the ball rolling with a great 5-1 victory thanks to Shellbie Guest, Kath Jenkins, Sarah Maybury, Kelly Aston and Hannah Davies.

This was followed by an awesome 9-3 win for the men's B team - with Adam Teasdale, Martin Price, Jordan Craig, Ian Stanton, Cameron Baird, Jay Woodhouse, Luke Griffiths, Will Beaden and Kian Rogers doing the damage to hold a day one advantage of 14-4.

And that was enough for the A teams to defend on day two, despite the women's A team falling to a 5-1 defeat - Evonne Taylor getting West Midlands on the board - and the men's A team going down 7-5, despite the best efforts of Scott Baker, Dan Hands, Mark Craddock, man-of-the-match Jack Aldridge and Richy Platt.

Elsewhere, Quarry Bank Libs took over at the top of the Black Country Super League after crushing Townsend A 4-1 thanks to Gav Moreton, Nick Fullwell, John Green and Jeff Batham.

Allens A dropped to second after a 3-2 defeat to the hands of Northfield DC - Alfie Busby, Matt Lloyd and Dave Hill with the wins.

Dudley Ex's PDC Pro Tour player Tom Bissell registered a 102.39 average in a 3-2 victory over Soccer Zone A - the other wins coming from Liam Kelly and Jamie Rollinson.

Parkes Hall dropped their first points of the season in the Coseley Friday League after being held 3-3 by Allens. Joe Turner, Steve Davis and Jamie Rollinson were the Parkes winners, with Andy Garrett, Lee Jordan and Sam Bissell replying.

The Royal claimed their second victory of season, winning 4-2 at New Gate courtesy of Kian Roberts, Ash Wilkinson, Jason Morris and Bailey Morris.

Wednesfield Cons A moved into third after defeating Lower Gornal A 4-2 with wins from Karl Hughes, Daz Williams, Ask Khayat and Wayne Jones.

Wheatsheaf claimed their first victory of the season in the Wolverhampton Tuesday League after beating Dog A 5-2 courtesy of James Mckean, Cian Ryan, Wayne Reed, Jamie Horton and Elliot Stokes.

Junction A had a 5-2 away victory at Three Crowns - Mark Daniel, Len Slade, Rich Ashley, Adam Slade and Chris Marshall all winning.

Ashmore had Connor Lucas, Troy Simmonds, Stuart Richards, Mark Footman, Kyle Szabo and Liam Bolton to thank for beating Gilberts A 6-1.

Wednesfield Sunday Leaders Wednesfield Legion crushed third-placed Ashmore A 6-0 thanks to Dean Fullwood, Glen McGrandle, Sid Bourne, Paul Simmons, Ryan Bourne and Craig Carey.

Second-placed Junction defeated Ashmore B 6-0 with wins from Phil Mayo, Rich Newey, Jimmy Handley, Mark Curley, Mikey Harris and Simon Potts, while Glassy Junction moved into third after beating Gilberts B 4-2 - Sean Bastable, Colin Wood, Rob Thompson and Tommy Aldridge doing the damage.
