Which West Brom players could be at risk of a ban and what are the EFL rules around yellow cards
It may only be nine games into the new campaign - but there will be players in the Championship and other divisions who are in for a tense couple of months.
The season is still in its infancy to some degree - with only a handful of games played so far.
When it comes to looking at the statistics around your team at this stage of the season, you're looking at where they are in the table, how many points do they have and how many goals have they scored and conceded.
There won't be many who will be looking at the disciplinary record - and who is leading the way at the moment.
But, when you get to this stage of the season, despite it being so early, there are always a few players who may just be looking down the barrel of a potential suspension.
Here is a look at the players in the Albion side who have been in the book more than once this season - and who may have to walk a bit of a tightrope in coming months.
Suspension rules and how Albion stand
The rules in the EFL state that any player that has accumulated five yellow cards will receive an automatic one match ban.
However, the key point in this is that the ban is only enforceable if the five yellow cards have been picked up before the 19th match.
After the 19th match, the five yellow card rule is then void. However, there are other potential sanctions down the line. If a player goes on to receive ten yellow cards before the 32nd match of the season, they receive a two match ban.
Then further on, if they reach 15 yellow cards by the 38th match of the fixture list, then they will receive a three match ban.
So where do Albion stand at the moment?

There are no players right on the cusp of it, but there could well be a few who are in a nervy position in a few weeks. Albion still have ten games to go until the 19 match threshold is passed.
There are six players in George Campbell, Chris Mepham, Nat Phillips, Isaac Price, Alex Mowatt and Callum Styles who are all on two yellow cards.
So they need to get through the next ten games without picking up another three bookings each.
In Campbell's case, he has actually picked up three yellow cards across all competitions this season, having been booked in the Carabao Cup clash with Derby.
However, yellow cards picked up in the EFL Cup are served in that competition and now in the league.
