Steve Bull: Late goals a killer for Wolves - but positives clear to see
There’s only one word which sums up the mood among Wolves supporters at the moment and that is frustration.
For two weekends running we were on the brink of winning our first Premier League match of the season, only to see it snatched away by a late equaliser.
Last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brighton was particularly galling because the goal we conceded was so avoidable. Sometimes it is about doing the basics and staying switched on for 91, 92 or 93 minutes, or just stopping the cross.
There was some criticism after the match for Vitor Pereira and a suggestion we went too defensive in the second half when holding on to the lead.
But it is always easy to be wise in hindsight. The manager did what he thought was right at the time and maybe afterward he was kicking himself.
On the other hand, if we had held out for the win, everyone would have been saying it was the right thing to do.
