Wolverhampton's Davina Perrin who hit 42 ball Hundred century bags PCA young player of the year
Wednesfield’s Davina Perrin has been named the Professional Cricketers’ Association’s young player of the year.
Perrin, who only turned 19 a month ago, had a stunning season with Warwickshire, Birmingham Bears and Hundred champions Northern Superchargers.
Perrin, who lit up the Hundred with a stunning 42-ball century in the Hundred semi-finals for the Superchargers, is tipped as a potential England player across all formats.
The teenager, who came through the ranks at Fordhouses Cricket Club in Wolverhampton, said: "It's almost surreal, I'd never played in front of crowds as big as in The Hundred and when you've got a great team around you it makes it even more special.
"The biggest thing for me is that I'm maximising my potential and hopefully the England honours will come."
It is the latest in a series of awards for Perrin, who also also named Birmingham Bears’ player of the season for the T20 Blast and the Metro Bank Cup at the weekend.
