West Brom Championship rival set to sack manager and re-appoint ex-Premier League boss
The Championship sacking season has kicked off and it is a familiar club who have made the second axing in the division since the campaign kicked off.
Ruben Selles became the first managerial casualty of the Championship season - as he was axed by Sheffield United having only taken over back in the summer.
The former Reading boss was replaced by Chris Wilder who has returned for yet another spell at the Blades.
And now it is a familiar club who have made another sacking decision - just nine games into the season.
Paulo Pezzolano was only appointed as the Watford manager back in the summer - taking over Tom Cleverley who left the club back in May.
But he now looks likely to become the club's 13th manager since 2020.
Pezzolano has won three of his opening nine games - with the Hornets sitting eleventh in the table, two points behind Albion.
However, according to reports, the club are set to sack him and bring back a former Watford favourite in Javi Gracia.
Gracia famously guided Watford to the FA Cup in 2019 - and an eleventh placed finish in the Premier League before a less impressive spell with Leeds United.
Now Watford are set to turn to him for a second spell - with reports stating he will be appointed in the coming days. It will come ahead of Albion making the trip to Vicarage Road later this month.
