Black Country start UK campaign with a win - darts round-up

Black Country kicked off their UK Darts Association League One campaign with a narrow victory over Derbyshire.

Trev Brennan, Jamie Rollinson, Mike Powell, Alfie Busby, Steve Jones, Harry Williams, Tom Bissell and Kieron Bridgwater inspired Men’s A to an 8-4 victory.

The Women's A fell to a 5-1 defeat - Chez Alcock saving their blushes - but Sam Bissell, Andy Garrett, Matt Lloyd, Mark Jones, Rhys Butler, Ian Townsend and Wayne Hobday propelled Men's B team to a 7-5 triumph.

And Doreen Hunt, Sarah Parker and Demmi Titley guided Women's B to a 3-3 draw to secure an overall victory of 19-17 to Black Country.

Hurst Hill claimed consecutive victories in the Coseley Friday League, defeating Gornal Labour 4-2 thanks to Danny Jones, Craig Hampton, Billy Jones and Shane Preston.

Baggeridge had a great 4-2 victory over Darlaston Cons courtesy of Carl Sparrow Jnr, Luke Cross, Lloyd James and Sam Frumenzi, while Hotshots B moved three points behind the leaders after winning 4-2 at New Gate - Shane Gill, Luke Messer, Ryan Tinsley and John Simms doing the damage.

Junction B are heading towards consecutive Tettenhall Wednesday League titles after crushing The Pilot 7-0 thanks to Luke Griffiths, Callum Parkes, Richard Newey, Paul Bromley, Adam Slade, Phil Mayo and Len Slade.

Second-placed Junction A fell 4-3 to Swan Compton - Dave Gamble, Mick Scott, Nigel Southwick and Dodge Booth the Swan winners - while Red Lion A took a 4-3 battle with Dog A courtesy of Luke Farmer, Billy Bates, Ben Flanagan and George Jeavons.

Ashmore A got knocked off the top of the Wednesfield Sunday League after going down 4-2 at Tuns B courtesy of Max Law, Mick Evans, David Duckers and Wayne Horton.

Victoria had a 5-1 away victory at Lady T’s thanks to Ash Vaughan, Steve Gripton, Steve Greenaway, Wozza Brice and Jo Tschubenko, while Gilberts A defeated Cleveland 5-1 - Ben Johnson, Dave Lopez, Chris Hill, Brian Dolman and Jon Blakemore all winning.

Black Country Super League big hitters Allens A and Dudley Ex clashed, with leaders Allens coming out 3-2 victors - Rich Bowen, Jack Aldridge and Ryan O’Connor winning.

Ten Arches claimed their second victory of season by defeating Townsend Social 3-2 thanks to Kian Rogers, Grant Jackson and Tommy Johnson, while Quarry Bank Libs came from two down to beat Allens C 3-2 courtesy of George Willetts, Gav Moreton and Nick Fullwell.
