Wembley the dream as Dudley Town are ‘hungry’ for more silverware
Matty Lovatt says his Dudley Town are “hungry” for more cup success as they aim to take a step closer to Wembley in the FA Vase tomorrow.
The Robins welcome Stourport Swifts in the second qualifying round, hoping to secure a third successive appearance in the first round of the competition.
Fresh from their JW Hunt Cup triumph last season, Dudley boss Lovatt is eyeing more silverware, but knows his team will face a stern test.
“You get addicted to that winning feeling,” he said.
“The memories are still fresh, and to experience anything like that again would be a dream. The group are hungry for more success.

“It is going to be difficult against Stourport. Our fixtures are always close encounters, full blooded, and there is a proper derby feel.
“This is one of the competitions that you always look to do well in. It has the carrot dangle of Wembley which is beautiful for all players, staff members and players.
“But, it’s also a good opportunity to make your mark, with respect to players and their CVs, and to say we have done well and were one of the better sides at step five in the country. It offers a great opportunity to go and prove that.”
Elsewhere in the competition, Eccleshall entertain local rivals Stone Old Alleynians. The Eagles are unbeaten in their last four North West Counties League (NWCL) Divison One South games and edged past Alsager Town last Tuesday. Stone sit 16th in the Midland Premier, and lost 1-0 to Winsford United midweek.
