Elston Hall Primary School celebrate a year of sporting success

Elston Hall Primary School have kicked off a new term by celebrating their supporting success from the previous 12 months.

Over the course of the year, the Wolverhampton school attended 25 different sporting events, with 43 fixtures taking place across sports such as athletics, cricket, cross country, dodgeball, football, multi-skills, netball, rounders, swimming, table cricket, tennis and tag rugby.

The school celebrated much success over the year, including boys and girls football league winners, boys football city champions, cricket city champions, sportshall athletics winners, cross country champions and year three/four tennis city champions.

Another key success this year was from the Key Stage One multi-skills team, who were crowned as Black Country Games champions after an amazing performance in the finals held at the University of Wolverhampton.

Alongside this, the school have also reached the finals for netball and rounders, further demonstrating their sporting presence across a range of events.

The events featured 56 children across the school showing sporting excellence.

In recognition of the school's dedication to sporting excellence, they were proud recipients of the PASS (physical activity and school sports) award at the recent WASPs presentation evening.

This coincides with the school also being awarded Gold Sports Mark by the Youth Sport Trust to reward school for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
