Snooker round-up: Baggeridge Social Club locked in four-horse race at the summit

Tom Maxfield knocked in the first century of the season with a 109-break but was powerless to prevent Shifnal from slumping to a 4-1 defeat at Baggeridge Social Club.

Maxfield put Shifnal into the lead, but Baggeridge roared back to win comprehensively courtesy of wins from David Hall, Dan Petch, Jamie Spence and James Hill. 

That win propelled Baggeridge joint-top with fellow unbeaten sides Hotshots, Sedgley Ex Service, Sedgley WMC and Landywood. 

Landywood enjoyed a resounding victory, beating Hotshots B 4-1, with Jack Harris, Kane Grigg, Hasib Hussain and Robbie James helping them come from behind.

Oliver Spooner made a 45-break to kick-start a whitewash victory for Wednesfield Cons over Pennfields, with Andy Price, Ryan Hamilton, Joshua Walker and Dan Ward completing the rout.

Sedgley Ex Service came from a frame down to beat Shifnal B 4-1 thanks to Simon Hickman, Gurdip Sidhu, Toby Smith and Andrew Highfield. 

Sedgley WMC edged to a 3-2 victory over Charlemont with Rhys Lampitt securing the deciding frame with a 38-break. 

Newly-promoted Poets Corner collected an excellent 3-2 at Stafford Institute, after wins from Darren Millard, Raj Bashal and Pommy Kang overturned Matt Hyden's opening winning frame for Stafford. 

Elsewhere in Division One, reigning champions Hotshots conquered last year's runners-up Landywood B 3-2, and Landywood C beat Stafford Institute B by the same score-line. 

Bilston Bowling Club lead at the Division Two summit by a single point after easing to a 4-1 demolition of Landywood D with Lee Edwards, Wayne Bentley, Ashley Wall and Jodi Humphreys doing the damage.

New side Beaconsfield also look a strong contender for promotion and continued their unbeaten start with a 4-1 victory at Poets Corner. 

Bilston Sports & Social and Woodfield also extended their unbeaten records with 3-2 and 4-1 wins over Charlemont B and Essington WMC respectively. 

Steve Rodgers made a 46-break for Landywood F to help guide them to a 3-2 triumph at Pennfields B. 

In Division Three, Bilston Bowling Club B registered their second successive whitewash, with wins from Nik Smith, Shaun Bennett, Mick Reece, Rob Reece and Paul Lacy extending their lead at the summit to four points. 

Sedgley Ex Service trail them in second, and are also unbeaten after two games, after beating recently-promoted Old Hall 3-2. 

In Division Four, Beechdale Social Club moved two points clear at the top with a 5-0 rout against Dudley Ex Service. 

Fordhouses CC and Pennfields D continued their unbeaten start with 3-2 wins over Pelsall Social and Willenhall Liberal B respectively. 

Forty Four C claimed their second successive whitewash against Rugeley SC to sit two clear clear at the Division Five summit.
