FA Cup round-up as three bow out, two to replay, Hednesford plunder seven and Khalsa abandoned due to incident
Kidderminster Harriers slumped out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle at National League North neighbours AFC Telford United.
Adam Murray’s visitors were deservedly beaten 3-1 in Shropshire as they failed to make it beyond their entry point in the second qualifying round.
The Bucks went 2-0 up through goals from Rhys Hilton and Orrin Pendley either side of half-time but Harriers pulled one back via Tobi Sho-Silva’s header three minutes from time.
It gave Harriers hope but goalkeeper Christian Dibble was dismissed deep into stoppage time for a handball outside his box. Striker Amari Morgan-Smith saw out the final moments between the sticks and went up for a last-gasp set-piece, but Telford broke and Charlie Williams converted into the empty net.
Murray said: "It was a really strange game. I think we dominated most of it. We created enough to win the match.
"The first goal we scored, the officials said was offside, we've looked and it's three yards onside, it's embarrassing. I felt the officials took centre stage and it's becoming a joke now."
Stourbridge also crashed out of the competition with a disappointing 3-1 defeat at lower-ranked Sutton Coldfield Town.
Jayden Campbell was the two-goal hero for Sutton. He fired in a belter for a half-time lead before Jez Abbey equalised from the spot.
The Royals regained the lead with 17 minutes left as Glassboys goalkeeper Charlie Price's save landed at the feet of James McGrady who converted. Stourbridge, of the tier above, pushed late on with keeper Price's header kept out from a corner but Campbell put the tie to bed in the closing stages.
Rushall Olympic succumbed to controversial late drama as a stoppage-time penalty for hosts Gainsborough Trinity earned them a 2-1 win and progression.
The Pics led for much of the tie thanks to Jordaan Brown's slid finish shortly before half-time but the Lincolnshire hosts levelled with a little over 10 minutes left.
A stoppage-time penalty following a scramble in the box bemused most - not least Pics boss Ian Long who saw red - and Jonny Margetts kept his cool to seal the win.

Sporting Khalsa’s big tie at home to National North Hereford ended in an abandonment after claims of alleged racism from the stands aimed at Khalsa goalkeeper Ravan Constable.
Ian Rowe’s Khalsa were 2-1 down early in the second half when the tie was halted.
The Football Association have condemned the “very worrying” incident and said the next steps will follow in due course.
Hednesford Town, meanwhile, made light work of their second round qualifying tie with a 7-0 thrashing of Coleshill Town.
Frontman Akheem Rose was the four-goal hero with Dan Turner, Dom McHale and Jonny Edwards also on target in the thumping win over lower-league hosts.
Halesowen Town will host Grimsby Borough in a replay at The Grove on Tuesday night after a 1-1 draw.
Jason Cowley brought the Yeltz level with a fine free-kick on 18 minutes, shortly after the visitors fell behind with Grimsby also down to 10 men. Halesowen also finished a man down after captain Jamie Willets saw red late on
Chasetown head to Banbury United for a Tuesday night replay as the Scholars valiantly held on to a goalless draw after playing more than half of the tie with 10 men due to Joe Thompson's dismissal.
The third qualifying round will take place at Monday lunchtime.
In limited league action on Saturday, Northern League Midlands side Lichfield City lost for just a second time this season, 2-1 at home to Coventry Sphinx.
Stafford Rangers are third in Northern West after a 3-1 defeat at Atherton Colleries.
