Nat Phillips warns against complacency at high-flying West Brom
Nat Phillips has warned Albion not to get complacent after an impressive start to the season.
Phillips praised Albion as “outstanding” after their most recent victory over Stoke City. The win was their third of the new campaign under new boss Ryan Mason.
The centre-back, who has been a rock at the heart of Albion’s defence, said confidence is high in the camp after a string of impressive results - but warned that the hard work is far from over.
“It's important to not get complacent,” the 28-year-old said. “We all know that we need to keep pushing forward, keep going in the direction that we want to.
“Obviously there is an international break now, but we just want to carry on as we've started the season with positive performances and positive results.”
Unbeaten Albion sit second in the Championship ahead of their return to action against Derby County at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
Phillips said the international break has served as an opportunity to fine-tune their approach.

But, asked whether it had come at the wrong time, given their form, he added: “Yes, there is a little sense of that, we want to continue with the run that we've been going on.
“But it's also an opportunity to bed the new signings in, work on our style, and what we want to do for the rest of the season before the next game.”
Phillips was full of praise for how the squad - including several summer arrivals - have quickly gelled under Mason’s leadership after the win over Stoke.
“Yes, you don't really have a choice though,” he replied, after being asked if everyone has settled well.
“You've got to be ready for these games. They come thick and fast, but credit to everyone, they rose to the challenge.”
The £1 million summer arrival praised fellow summer signing George Campbell for his role in the win against Stoke where he played at right back, facing a stern test in Sorba Thomas.
“George playing out of position. I thought he was top, I thought he had a really good battle with their winger and got the better of that match-up.
”And Styles, he’s so reliable week in, week out. But as a team in general, not just as a back four, it was a great performance all-round.”
