West Brom boss hit with touchline ban after accepting FA charge
Boss Ryan Mason will be missing from the touchline when Albion visit Stoke on Saturday after admitting an FA charge of misconduct.
The 34-year-old was sent-off for dissent during the second half of last weekend’s 1-1 home draw with Portsmouth.
Mason was left incensed by referee Elliot Bell’s decision to not award the Baggies a penalty after Aune Heggebo was brought down in the box.
The Baggies boss was then shown a red card for his reaction when Heggebo again appeared to be fouled, this time outside the box, a short time later.
Mason has subsequently accepted the FA charge of acting in an improper manner and will watch Saturday’s clash with Stoke from the stands. He has also been fined £2,000.
The former Tottenham and Hull midfielder, who was appointed Albion’s new boss in the summer, has enjoyed an impressive start to life at The Hawthorns, with his team taking seven points from their first three Championship matches.
