Ex-West Brom striker signed after FA Youth Cup stunner joins PFA squad alongside two former Albion youngsters
A number of former West Brom players have been taking part in the PFA training camps across the summer.
The camps are designed to give out of contract players the chance to stay fit and train - and also play pre-season friendlies as they look for a new club.
The most high profile name has been John Swift - who spent time with the squad after his release from The Hawthorns earlier this summer.
He then went on to sign for Portsmouth - while a fellow former Albion team mate Adam Reach has also linked up with the PFA squad.
And in their latest announcement of who will be part of the latest camp - the PFA has published a list that includes further former Baggies.
A new name on the list who will be less remembered by Albion fans is former striker Callum Morton.
The 25-year-old was plucked by Albion back in 2018 from Yeovil Town - having come through the academy at the lower league club.
After he impressed the Albion coaches during an FA Youth Cup tie between the two clubs, a game in which he scored a stunning goal in a 3-2 victory - he was invited for a trial.
And after playing against a Shanghai SIPG XI and Derby County, he was handed a scholarship with the Baggies.
A four year contract followed and with Albion seeing him as one for the future - he was sent out on a number of loans to EFL clubs.
He had impressive spells - but unfortunately for the striker a chance with the first team never arrived.
He departed for Fleetwood on a permanent deal in 2022 - before moving to Salford City. And after two loan moves away from the Class of 92 owned club, he was released in the summer.
Morton is now on the list of free agents training with the PFA alongside two other former Albion youngsters.
Josh Shaw and Reece Hall had been in and around the first team set up at Albion in recent years - but were part of the players who were released earlier this summer.
