Carlos Corberan shows class as ex-West Brom manager makes gesture with Ibiza cycle fundraiser meet
It may be eight months since Carlos Corberan departed West Brom - but it is clear the club still holds a special place in his heart.
The Spaniard departed Albion last December to take over at the La Liga club - and he emulated his first season success he achieved at Albion.
He helped Valencia out of a relegation battle and at one stage last year they were on the cusp of breaking into the European places.
And last week Albion fans may have spotted that his links to the Baggies were re-kindled through a fundraiser taking on a mammoth cycle ride.
DJ Andy Gulch, an Albion fan and DJ, has been taking on the lengthy trip cycling from the West Midlands to Ibiza - with DJ decks strapped to the front of his bike.
Starting the challenge earlier this summer - Andy has been heading through France and while travelling through Spain he was rewarded with a special meet up with the former Albion boss.
Andy reached out to Valencia on social media asking to meet Corberan, and he invited Andy along to Valencia's training base - where stopped for a chat and posed for pictures.
And in a video posted on the Valencia Instagram page, Andy said: "He's well thought of at Albion.
"It was great because I never got to meet him in person when he was West Brom manager. He is a friendly guy, and respect to him, he took time out of his training sessions to meet me so thank you Carlos."
Andy is taking on the ride to raise money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital and the Albion Foundation - and to donate to his cause click here.
