Non-league round-up: Kidderminster Harriers and Hednesford Town fall to defeat

Kidderminster Harriers fell to their first defeat of the season after losing 2-1 at AFC Fylde in the National League North.

Luca Thomas fired Fylde into a 42nd-minute lead before Sebastian Thompson levelled proceedings less than 60 seconds after the restart. 

Fylde restored their lead two minutes later through Jonathan Utabasi with what proved to be the winner. 

That defeat extended Kidderminster's winless run to three games and saw them drop to 11th in the embryonic league table. 

Newly-promoted Hednesford Town suffered a second successive defeat in the Northern Premier Division after they were beaten 1-0 by Morpeth Town. 

Hednesford failed to clear their lines from a corner and Will Dowling forced the ball home to score the only goal of the contest for the hosts.

Rushall Olympic continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-2 draw against 10-man Stockton Town at Dales Lane. 

Josh Scott gave Stockton the lead inside seven minutes, before Alex Moore equalised for Rushall moments later. 

Tom Coulthard was shown a straight red card for the visitors and Fenton Heard fired the Pics ahead just before the interval. 

Kian Hayes got Stockton back on levels terms just before the hour-mark and an inspired performance from goalkeeper Harry Christy frustrated Rushall in their quest to find a winner.

Halesowen also remain unbeaten in the Southern Central Premier but were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw at Stamford. 

Charlie Wragg, on loan from Walsall, opened the scoring midway into the first half, but Jack Duffy's equaliser five minutes after half-time rescued a point for the hosts.

Stourbridge suffered their first defeat of the campaign after Spalding United left it late to win 1-0 at the War Memorial Ground. 

The Glass Boys failed to convert a number of chances, especially in the second half, and were condemned to defeat when Dan Lawlor converted from the spot just three minutes from time.

Stafford Rangers made it back-to-back wins in the Northern West after easing to a 3-0 success at Wythenshawe Town courtesy of goals from Ashley Fallon, Dan Cockerline and Joe Cuff.

Chasetown served up a goalless stalemate at home to Vauxhall Motors, while Darlaston Town were beaten 2-1 by Bootle at the Paycare Ground. 

Darlaston led at the break through James Rowland's 25th-minute opener, but Connor Rankin drew the visitors level seven minutes into the second half. Courtney Duffus scored the decisive goal with 15 minutes remaining.

Sporting Khalsa progressed to the first qualifying round of the FA Trophy after beating Wellingborough United 4-3 on penalties. 

Taylor Townsend put Khalsa ahead on the hour-mark before the visitors equalised in stoppage time through Jack O'Connor. 

Khalsa prevailed in the shoot-out and will travel to Coleshill Town in the next round on Saturday, September 6. 

In the Northern One Midlands, Luke Childs scored the only goal to extend Lichfield City's unbeaten start with a 1-0 win at Carlton Town.

There will also be a full set of fixtures across non-league on Bank Holiday Monday, with Kidderminster welcoming Leamington to Aggborough. 

Hednesford host Rushall Olympic in a tasty seventh-tier derby, Stourbridge travel to Banbury United and Halesowen face Worcester City at home.

In another local clash, Chasetown visit Sporting Khalsa and Darlaston face a short trip to Shifnal Town. 

Stafford Rangers play host to Nantwich Town and Lichfield welcome Sutton Coldfield to the City Ground.
