Salford City "want more" despite three-match winning streak ahead of Walsall

Karl Robinson feels Salford City still need "more new faces" despite registering three wins on the spin ahead of their visit to Walsall in the lunch-time kick-off tomorrow.

Adebola Oluwo's second half blockbuster secured a 1-0 victory at Newport County on Tuesday, after previous wins over Notts County and Accrington Stanley respectively.

That run has propelled the Red Devils to fourth-place in the embryonic league table, but Robinson vehemently believes that "three or four" more additions will be needed this summer.

"We've had a wonderful start to the season in relation to what we've got, we need so much more," Robinson told BBC Radio Manchester.

"Everybody at the football club is working around the clock to try and drive us in the right direction, but right now we don't have enough.

"We've got so many young players on the bench, but having said that, the starting XI are giving me everything.

"There's building blocks to be better, but that won't be good enough, and we know that internally from the owners to the recruitment team.

"Everybody internally knows that there's a lot of work still to be done. We probably need three or four more players."

Salford shipped three in their opening day defeat against Crewe Alexandra at the Peninsula Stadium, but have conceded just once in four games since in all competitions.

Wide man Kelly O'Mai will not be involved, after Robinson confirmed that he is set to miss the next two months due to injury last week.

Ossama Ashley and Haji Mnoga also won't be available with the pair due to return to Salford training on Monday next week.

Elsewhere, Dan Chesters and Kevin Berkoe are yet to feature for the Red Devils this season and remain major doubts.
