Former West Brom talent who departed for Aston Villa linked with £12m Southampton switch
A former West Brom academy star could be set for a move to one of the favourites for the Championship title.
Finn Azaz was one of a handful of young and exciting Albion prospects who departed The Hawthorns before they were able to break into the first team.
A number of the young talents headed off to Aston Villa - before going out on loan and then to other clubs.
In the case of Azaz, he had loan spells away from Villa at the likes of Plymouth Argyle before he handed a permanent switch to Middlesbrough in January 2024.
The move, reportedly for a fee of around £2.5m, saw Azaz become one of Boro's key players.
In his first full campaign last season he scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists for the Teesside club.
But now it seems as though he could be on the move to the South Coast.
According to reports, Southampton are in talks over a potential £12m deal for Azaz before the transfer window slams shut.
It is unsure what stage the deal is at - or whether Albion or Villa have any sell on clauses as part of the deal.
