The step three clubs have entered the competition at its first qualifying round stage and the trio will all be on familiar territory for the ties on Saturday, August 30.

Gavin Hurran's Pitmen, who sit top of the Northern Premier Division with three wins from three following promotion, welcome Nottinghamshire side Basford United, of the division below, as Hednesford look to continue the feelgood factor.

Basford were relegated from the Northern Premier last term.

Fellow Northern Premier outfit Rushall have a home tie against a side from two divisions below with Atherstone Town, who were transferred from the Midland League to the United Counties League this summer, to come to Dales Lane.

Halesowen will play host to struggling Southern Premier Central league rivals Stratford Town at The Grove.

The Yeltz have started the season with an unbeaten run of two wins from three while the Bards are at the foot of the table without a point.

There are away ties for Stourbridge, who will head to Stoke to tackle lower-ranked Hanley Town.

Hosts Hanley were relegated to Midland Premier at step five last season while the Glassboys have made a decent unbeaten start to their Southern Premier Central campaign in step three.

Northern West side Chasetown have started the league campaign with a win and a draw and face a tough assignment with a trip to Worcester City's 12,000-capacity Sixways. Worcester were promoted to the level above the Scholars last term.

Sporting Khalsa, also of Northern West, will wait for the outcome of a preliminary round replay between Newark & Sherwood United and Boston Town on Tuesday night to determined where they head at the end of the month.

The pair played out a goalless draw on Saturday.

Dudley Town and Lye Town interest in the competition ended over the weekend as they were beaten at Coventry Sphinx and at home to Racing Club Warwick respectively.

Winners in the first qualifying round of the competition pocket £2,250 in prize money. Losers earn £750.
